Nothing takes your look down a notch like dull, lifeless locks. To restore your hair to its former healthy, shiny glory, here’s what you’ll need to do...
Hydrate
It may sound obvious, but it’s amazing how many of us forget to top up our water levels throughout the day to keep our locks in check. Consuming an adequate amount of H20 each day is crucial to maintaining moisturised, glossy hair. Aim for 6-8 glasses every day and cut back on soft drinks and coffees, which tend to have a dehydrating effect.
You are what you eat

A bad diet doesn’t only have a detrimental effect on your energy levels, it’s also harmful to your hair. Fatty, sugary foods can deplete the body of hair health nutrients, causing your locks to lose their strength and shine, so keep them to a bare minimum. Omega 3 has long been linked to hair health, so focus on getting your daily dose through foods like salmon, walnuts, legumes and olive oil.
Cut back on the chemicals
Chances are if you’re a devotee of the peroxide treatment, you’re also the owner of a dull mop that’s prone to breakage. Where possible, give your strands a ‘hair holiday’ – a few weeks free from chemical treatments, regular heat styling and products. This will give your hair a chance to rest and repair itself – and also dramatically cut back on how long it takes you to get ready each day!
Mask up
Once a week, treat your hair to a nourishing hair mask which will give your locks a much-needed moisture hit and help to repair damage. To intensify the results, massage deeply into the scalp and the ends of hair before winding into a loose bun and securing with a plastic hair clip, then wrap hair with cling-wrap and allow to sink into your strands for 20 minutes. Voila! Super soft, glossy hair!
